Complete quiz on loose-leaf paper. India Geography Quiz • 1. I am the tallest and highest mountain range and in northern India. • 2. I am a body of water west of India. • 3. I am a river that once held Mohenjo-Daro and Harappa. • 4. I am the ocean south of India. • 5. I am the body of water east of India. • 6. I am seasonal winds (hot and/or wet) which affect the climate of India. • 7. I am a large landmass separated from its continent by other physical features. • 8. I am equal to the Nile River in Egypt…I make agriculture possible.

Vocabulary • Aryans - originally from Central Asia, they became the dominant people in ancient India. • Sanskrit – the language of ancient India; the root of many South Asian languages • Vedas – religious texts written in Sanskrit telling about Aryan history and beliefs • Caste System - divided India’s society into groups based on a person’s birth, wealth, and occupation.
