Lapeer County Technology Coalition’s Mission • Support coordination of technological developments within Lapeer County • Provide community and county information via the World Wide Web • Provide and maintain access to the World Wide Web for schools and libraries in Lapeer County. • Establish public access sites to the Internet

  8. Who Joins the Technology Coalition? • Representatives from Community-based organizations throughout the county • Individuals with an interest in community information • Annual dues $10 • Supporting Members • $55 a day of costs • $385 a week of costs • $1,650 a month of costs • Other (any amount helps)

  9. What Do “TechCo” Funds Support? • Webmaster Time • Computer hardware/software upgrades • Training • Promotion

What is LCID? • Lapeer County’s Community • Network on the World Wide Web • Lapeer County Information Depot is sponsored by: • Constituent school districts Lapeer, Almont, Dryden, Imlay and North Branch • Lapeer County Library • Lapeer County Government • Other Lapeer Technology Coalition Members

Where Is LCID? • In the Library Admin Offices • In the the Internet Training Center • On a computer provided by • Constituent School Districts originally -- with replacements from grants and Coalition funds • Maintained by LCID Webmaster paid through Coalition funds received from project partners

  14. How Organizations Get On Board • Plan and prepare information and graphics • Have homepage ready for placing on the server • Deliver to LCID server • Or provide URL if on a different server • Don't know how? We'll train you

  15. How Community Organizations Help • Make a donation to support LCID expenses • Prepare and add your information to Lapeer County Information Depot • Contribute skills by helping with training workshops and/or developing Home Pages. • Serve as a public access site.
