  1. Interface Design: Slicing

  2. Slicing is a tool used to divide sections incorporated in your wire frame • Aids in designing the useable interface • Creates the differing appearances amongst the different states

  3. UP State: the state in which interactive buttons are being unused; as they appear when a website is entered

  4. DOWN State: the changed state of interactive buttons when the user has clicked on it; appearance should differ from the other states to ensure the user is aware they have achieved something

  5. OVER State: the changed state of interactive buttons when the user has skimmed over it; appearance should differ from the other states to ensure the user is aware they have achieved something

  6. Creating these different states is done in Adobe Photoshop • Layers of each different interactive button must be created in each individual state and saved as such • For instance: 5 navigation buttons=15 states; 5 UP, 5 OVER, 5 DOWN, which should be saved accordingly
