  2. ACOG Education Efforts • ACOG efforts to education their members regarding immunization recommendations and recommended practices – Laura Riley, ACOG • Plans for education and immunization implementation in practice settings discussed

  3. NVAC Immunization Information Systems Report • Alan Hinman: Peer-reviewed publications planned: • Health Affairs’ description of immunization information systems role in electronic medical recordkeeping • Journal of Public Health Management Practice summary of NVAC report • NVAC report to be posted on NVAC website once publications permit

  4. NVAC Immunization Information Systems Report Implementation • NVPO charged with hosting meeting of stakeholders on evaluating means to improve IIS participation: • Pros/cons of legislative approaches • Pros/cons of provider performance incentives • Others • Subcommittee recommended NVPO host meeting no later than this fall, to include public health departments, insurers, health plans, CMS, and provider organizations. • Meeting results to NVAC for recommendations

  5. CDC Strategic Planning for Vaccine Coverage Assessment • James Singleton, CDC: • Current coverage surveys and approaches reviewed • CDC external review of assessment summarized • Subcommittee recommends NVAC encourage additional resources for immunization assessment (presently 0.6% of CDC immunization budget, $20 million of >$3 billion)

  6. Discussion regarding Vaccine Payments • Timing of payments • Amount of payments • Perspectives of AHIP, NBGH

  7. Strategic Issues in Vaccine Research Priorities • Subcommittee recommends NVAC consider adding • Improving adult immunization rates • Improving immunization assessment and immunization information systems
