  5. NR TRANSMISSION SYSTEM Points Of Importance 1. The average no. of tripping/annum in respect of POWERGRID is around 4. In respect of UP lines, this is around 8 2. Non-availability of R-D HVDC Pole for long periods 3. Increase in no. of trippings of 400 KV Kanpur Ballabgarh ckt.

  6. NR TRANSMISSION SYSTEM Points Of Importance (Contd.) 4. Improvement in availability of UP’s Unnao-Agra and Agra-Moradnagar lines, after addition of extra discs 5. Mixed pattern in respect of lines from NR – II - Availability of Bawana-Bhiwani and Kishenpur-Moga improved considerably - Trippings of Dadri-Panipat, Dadri- Malerkotla however remained high last year

  7. NR BLACK START PROCEDURE Salient Features 1. Simultaneous revival of system from multiple points 2. Well identified sources for start-up process 3. Agreed philosophy for load-generation balance at different stages 4. Making available supply to emergency loads on priority 5. Integration of different sub-systems in defined and systematic manner

  8. NR BLACK START PROCEDURE Improvements done since January 2001 1. LILO of Singrauli-Rihand(H) at Renusagar 2. Two stable sources for black start - Vindhyachal - Sasaram 3. Early restoration of supply to Delhi system with Faridabad(Gas) and Pragati

  9. NR BLACK START PROCEDURE Improvements done since January2001 (contd..) 4. Early and simultaneous restoration of Punjab, HP and Haryana systems with RSD (Hydro) and Baspa(Hydro) and higher no. of units at Bhakara 5. Governor problem during isolated startup at Bhakra Station sorted out 6. Early restoration of railway traction supply by adding direct transmission lines from generating stations

  10. NR BLACK START PROCEDURE Mock Exercises / Dry Run Testing 1. Mock exercise at Vindhyachal B-to-B link - Last done on 17.06.2003 2. Mock exercises at Bhakra - Last done on 20.05.2003 3. Mock exercises at Faridabad (Gas) - Last done Sept. 2002
