  2. The Definition • Mechanical Engineer- Someone who uses the science of physics and other sciences to manufacture and create mechanical systems. • Mechanic- A person who repairs and maintains the mechanical systems that are created by the mechanical engineers.

Education needed for Mechanic • Mechanics typically only need a high school education with classes in computers, mechanical repair, and mathematics. • Mechanics usually need secondary training before acquiring a job. • Mechanics also have to have a license for working on mechanical systems before they can get the job.

  5. Education needed for Mechanical Engineers • High school education should consist of all maths including trig., Calculus, Algebra, Geometry. Also science classes that include biology and chemistry. • College requirements are typically a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. • This degree takes most people 4 years to complete.
