  2. Day 1 On a Tag On the Backpack with a Permanent Marker, big enough for his folder. Room 408 Ms. Jacobsen’s Class Car Rider/ Bus Rider 91

  3. 10 survival tips for parents • 1.- Write name on all child’s objects. Backpack and clothing. Name tags on first day indicate if he is a car rider or bus rider. Write down bus number. • 2.- Leave a light sweater in backpack at all times. Classroom may feel cold at times. • 3.- Money sent should be in a sealed envelope. Child’s name, amount sent and reason should be written on the outside. • 4.- Lose money will be sent back home. • 5.- Strap tennis shoes easy to put on and take off • 6.- Empty folders every Friday. This is our main mean of communication. • 7.- Keep handouts with cafeteria and transportation phone numbers. Help your child by keeping changes at a minimum. Changes in transportation will only be accepted in written. Please make sure that all individuals names allowed to pick up are on the pick up list in the front desk. • 8.- Log everything you read to your child. Lottery to win a prize. • 9.- Packet will be sent out Monday. Sign and Return all forms. • 10.- Send extra set of clothes in case of accidents in a labeled ziploc bag. Make sure all clothes have child’s name on it.

  4. Reading cards Child will be evaluated every Friday. -Ability to follow left to right. -Ability to continue to the next line on their own.

  5. Name Tracing • Everyday • Research shows 40x • Name first • Name and Last name is our goal

  6. Tracing, color and cut • Guide the child and help him/her. • Try to avoid doing the cutting for him/her as they gather more experience and confidence.

  7. Reading Logs • These are done monthly • Form is kept inside the folder • Fill out the form and sign every time you read a book to your child. • A book will go home on Monday from our classroom library. Another book will go home on Wednesday from school library. You may keep them until Monday. Do not forget to return them or your child will not be able to get another book from the library until she brings the last one back.

  8. Homework • Reading cards • Tracing their names • Tracing, color, cut • Reading logs • Homework sent out on Monday, please return on Friday.

  10. Report Cards / money Parent Conference 7:20-8:00 AM Report Cards Every nine week. Things to consider Parent Volunteers. Please sign up as a parent volunteer for parties and Field Trips. 5 dollar donation for parties Penny Bear Field Trip Shirt different from Spirit Shirt
