  2. Eksperiment ATLAS • eksperiment na LHCv CERNu • meritve trkov protonov pri, Ep = 7 TeV, luminoznost = 1034 cm-2s-1 7 TeV p 7 TeV p I. Mandić, F9, Oktober 2009

Visoke doze sevanja v eksperimentu ATLAS • sekundarni delci iz p-p interakcij - večinoma pioni • interakcije sekundarnih delcevz detektorskim materialom - nevtroni • Pričakovane doze po desetih letih • delovanja LHC: • Ionizacijska doza: TID > 100 kGy • Neionizacijske poškodbe (NIEL): • Φeq > 1015 n/cm2 (1 MeV nevtroni v Si) • Termični nevtroniΦ ~ 1015 n/cm2 • tolikšne doze poškodujejo detektorje in bralno elektroniko • detektorje in elektroniko je potrebno prilagoditi sevalnemu okolju • za razvoj je potrebno obsevati veliko vzorcev • Reaktor v Ljubljani je referenčni center za obsevanja z nevtroni pri razvoju detektorjev za eksperiment ATLAS I. Reaktor uporabljamo za študije sevalnih poškodb: • obsevanja vzorcev detektorskih materialov • obsevanja bralne elektronike Modul pasovnega (strip) detektorja: mere detektorja: 6x12 cm 2 x 768 stripov, 80 µm med pasovi Testna struktura (Si dioda 5x5 mm) Sestavljane strip detektorja (~4000 modulov) Bralna elektronika pripravljena za obsevanje I.   5. Predvidena nadgradnja pospeševalnika LHC na 10x višjo luminoznost • pričakovane doze sevanja 10x višje kot za ATLAS  potrebujemo nove detektorje • raziskave detektorskih materialov potekajo (kolaboracije RD50, RD39, RD42)
