Due • Complete an OPTIC sheet for each of the following visual arguments. Answer the corresponding question for each visual argument on the back of the OPTIC sheet (or on a separate sheet of paper). • Franklin – “Join or Die” + question #3 CA p. 119-120 • Adams – “Saigon Execution” + question #1 CA p. 477-479 • Ut – “The Terror of War” + question #2 CA p. 479-481
Editorial Cartoons • Collaboratively: • Trade the editorial cartoons around and discuss! • Talking points: date, historical context, intended audience, purpose, elements of OPTIC • Individually: • Review your 2+ editorial cartoons that you brought to class. On the back, or on a separate sheet of paper, write a separate paragraph for each cartoon in which you discuss the central argument and how the argument is being made.
