  2. Background • BYA has been serving young people and their families since 1971 • Began as a safe haven for both homeless teenagers and youth in crisis

  3. Team Nutrition Mission To develop an effective, empowering, and fun educational program that improves community food security and encourages children and their families to engage in fitness activities as well as eat and prepare healthy food through a variety of hands-on experiences.

  5. Media What? • Media Advocacy is used to promote an organization’s objectives or goals. • Media includes television, newspapers, magazines, radio, internet or anything that spreads information.

  6. Developing the Plan • Why do we want to use the media? • How can it benefit us? • What would be our message? • What media would we use? • Who is our target audience?
