The Deloitte-NIIF story: interview and survey Phase 1: „Network owners” (interview) - 25 March: Invitation to phone interview (Wouter Danneels) (Technology Advisory Services, Deloitte Consulting) One page Study Brief (v1) attached Immediate positive response from NIIFI (VC offered but rejected by Deloitte.) - 27 March: Invitation arrives to complete Questionnaire (mistake) - 3 April: Date of interview agreed, DOC file of ~20 questions received - 8 April: phone interview of NIIFI with Wouter Danneels (~90’) Theme: CEF-related matters (mostly about NIIFI) Deloitte: Wouter Danneels NIIFI: Janos Mohacsi, Lajos Balint Mr.Danneels expressed satisfaction, promised sending the record

The Deloitte-NIIF story: interview and survey Phase 2: „Reference networks” (survey) - 19 April: invitation to complete new Survey arrives New version of Study Brief attached (somewhat more detailed – 2 pages) EC Support Letter also attached - 22 April: new Questionnaire (DOC again) arrives - 25 April: new survey completed on-line - 29 April: record of interview and pdf of survey received (record seemsto be correct and comprehensive) However: still open issue: Usefulness of the procedure is questionable

The interview First questionnaire: „Network owners” • opinion on opening the network for public admins • experiences of building and operating the network • SWOT of the network • regulations and related issues • organisation, management, decisions, contracts • pricing, price sensitivity (users, providers), sharing • user base, parallel usability, demands, CRM • service provision actors, cloud practice, data safety • scaling, traffic patterns, QoS, e2e dependability • internal services, if any • connections to other networks

The survey Second questionnaire: „Reference Networks” • network type, size, ownership, funding • cost elements, cost sensitivity, security costs • planned investments, value of the network • security measures • management, responsibilities • user community size and details, user base changes • cloud strategy, cloud usage • priorities (costs and government aspects) • opinion about CEF • references (URL …)
