The ViPi Curriculum • The ViPi curriculum is a modular and tiered set of learning objects. • We have initially defined 3 tiers of modules: • Unit 1 - Computer Basics for Beginners • Unit 2 - Basic ICT Skills • Unit 3 - Higher Basic ICT Skills • Each set of modules contains optional components to cover relevant assistive technologies

The ViPi Curriculum Unit 1 – Computer basics for Beginners • About computers • Parts of a computer • Turning the computer on and off safely • Logging in and out • Input devices • The mouse/touchpad and accessible alternatives • The keyboard • The Touchscreen (Aimed at complete beginners or provides materials for the trainers of people with learning difficulty) • Using the computer • Desktop Icons • The Task Bar • Windows • Using an Application • Browsing the web • Web browsing applications • Using a web browser

The games developed are often transferable to ViPi with the addition of new content, and minor accessibility tweaks. Escapology Editor

The ViPi Curriculum ViPi Desktop Games New Games • Over the next 6 months development of all new desktop and mobile games will begin. • Specifically targetted at the ViPi project stakeholders and end users • Subject: Basic ICT skills. • Games content will be editable by tutors to fit their individual needs • New development environment created allowing: • 3D world interaction • overlays of text, images, buttons and text input. • Allows fast development of new, rich, accessible serious games.
