Evaluating the Impact of Wraparound Services on Community-Based Youth Support in Kansas and Milwaukee

This analysis explores the efficacy of Wraparound services in reducing institutional costs and improving community-based supports for youth in Kansas and Milwaukee. In Kansas, over $4.3 million was saved in institutional costs, which was reinvested into community services. A formal evaluation reported that Wraparound cost $13,587 per year versus $26,236 for institutional care. In Milwaukee, Wraparound services led to significant reductions in youth placements in residential treatment centers and decreases in offending behavior, highlighting a successful approach to youth welfare.
