  4. The Experiment – Part 1 • Inhibited the process of glycolysis by adding iodoacetate to the frog muscles. (NAP, 2010)

  5. The Experiment – Part 2 • By using phosphocreatine, muscle contractions continued.(NAP, 2010)

  6. The Experiment’s Results • The breakdown of ATP to ADP and inorganic phosphate drives muscle contraction (NAP, 2010)

  7. What does this mean?! • This shows that ATP can still be produced when glycolysis is inhibited while using phosphocreatine as a source of energy. (NAP, 2010) • This shows that phosphate can link catabolism and anabolism (NAP, 2010)
