8. My Beliefs about Assessment I understand that our nation’s educational systems must recognize the transition our country has made from an industrial age to an informational age, therefore calling for fundamental changes in education. We need to create and understand new ways to evaluate, plan, teach, and assess.
To assure that success in the learning process is occurring, we need to make sure that assessments are providing feedback to support continual learning. In life-long learning we master one level of skills and then start a new stage of complexity and standards to be met.
Early Assessment and Intervention are top priority. Young learners need to know the basic skills to be successful students.
