Psychology is the study of how people think, feel, and behave. Nutrition is the science of eating and drinking. Psychology is the study of how people think, feel, behave, and respond to their environment. It involves studying the mind and behavior. Nutrition is the study of food and its effects on human health. There are two types of nutrition: macro-nutrients (protein, fat, carbohydrate) and micronutrients (vitamins, minerals).   2. Coping with stress People often use food as a way to cope with stressful situations. When we eat, our bodies release endorphins (natural painkillers) and serotonin (a mood enhancer). These chemicals help us relax and relieve tension. Those who are stressed out tend to crave unhealthy foods. Eating junk food makes us feel good temporarily, but eventually it causes weight gain and obesity. Doctors also know that certain types of diets can make people depressed. A balanced diet helps keep us happy and healthy. Anorexia nervosa is a condition where someone experiences extreme fear of gaining weight and may engage in behaviors such as self-starvation, excessive exercise, and purging.

Binge eating disorder is a condition in which a person feels out of control while eating. There is a great role of nutrition psychology in ensuring good health of the body and mind.
