  2. DRAWING AND NAMING AN ANGLE A V 1 B If 2 or more angles share a vertex use 3 points or numbers This angle can be named : <AVB or <BVA or <V, Often numbers are used: <1 A <AVB is also <BVA and <1 <BVC is also <CVB and <2 B 1 2 C V

  3. Point X is INTERIOR to <1 Point Y is EXTERIOR to <1 Point Z is ON <1 A V 1 B • X • Z • Y

  4. Definitions – and more definitions • Degrees – the units of measure for angles • m<A – the way we show the measure of an angle • Example: • <A is an Acute Angle since its measure is <90 • SEE WORD DOCUMENT FOR THE REST

  5. Angle Addition Postulate<1 + <2 = <AVCusing different angle names<AVB + <BVC = <AVC • Like Segment addition (the 2 smaller angles sum to the larger angle). <1 + <2 = <AVC B 70 + 60 = <AVC A 70 130 = <AVC 60 1 2 V C
