  5. St.Paul’s Cathedral St. Paul’s Cathedral is the main cathedral in London. It was designed by Christopher Wren in the 17th century.

  6. The Tower • It was a fortress, a castle, a royal palace and a prison. • Now it’s a museum. • There are a lot of interesting collections in The Tower of London.

  7. The Tower Bridge • Built in 1894 the Tower Bridge has become one of the symbols of London.

  9. Westminster Abbey • Westminster Abbey is the ancient church. The oldest part of the building dates back to the 8th century. • British kings, queens and other famous people are buried here. • British monarchs are crowned in Westminster Abbey.

  10. BUCKINGHAMPALACE • was built in 1830. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have a suite of about 12 rooms on the first floor.

  11. The National Gallery is in Trafalgar Square • Trafalgar Square is the geographical centre of London. • It was named in memory of Admiral Nelson’s victory in the battle of Trafalgar in 1805.
