  4. GEOGRAPHY France is one of the largest countries in Europe and has lots of hills and mountains . The Alps are famous for their amazing heights. The highest point is 15,771 feet tall. France is 212,686 square miles. The Northern France Plains have a rich fertile soil, which is good for farming. France borders lots of countries and has a long coastline. The coastline is 2,300 miles long.

  5. CLIMATE The climate in France is atemperate climate. The climate in France varies from north to south . The south of France has a mild winters and hot summer. The north of France has rainy summers and mild winters. The differences in temperature comes fromthe distance from the sea.

Baguettes loaves are a kind of bread. Pains au chocolate is a kind of chocolate. Cheese omelettes have Swiss cheese and other cheese. Quiche Lorraine is a type of egg pie . Crepes are thin pancake made of eggs, flour, and milk . Croissants are a rich, flaky, pastry.

  9. SPORTS & HOBBIES There are lots of different sports in France . Boules is a popular sport . I t is similar to bowling ,only you play it outdoors . People roll metal balls and try to hit a small wooden ball . Soccer and football are the most popular sports in France . The France people get at least 5 weeks of vacation a year , so they can enjoy many sports . Tour de France is the biggest cycling race. It is a bicycle marathon that covers more than 2,400 miles . Skiing is a another popular sports . They ski on the Alps.

Napoleon Bonaparte was an officer and then became the emperor of France . He was defeated in 1815 by European armies and died in 1821.Victor Marie Hugo wrote many poems and novels. He wrote The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
