Identifying the Need • In August 2008, the National Assessment Governing Board commissioned a group of experts in the field of technology to develop a Technological Literacy Issues Paper that: • identifies the major issues relevant to the development of a first ever Technological Literacy Framework for NAEP, and • offers recommendations for their resolution.

  5. 2012 Technological Literacy Framework Develop the recommended framework and specifications for NAEP Technological Literacy 2012 in grades 4, 8, and 12. The assessment will be entirely computer-based. Recommend grade level(s) for the “probe” assessment in 2012. Recommend important background variables associated with student achievement in Technological Literacy that should be included in NAEP Assessment .
