Legalizing Intoxicants Does not Make it Right to use Them • Drunkenness is wrong (Romans 13:13; Ephesians 5:18) • Leaders err through drink (Isaiah 28:7-8; Prov. 31:4-5; Micah 2:11) • There is a proper use of intoxicants (Proverbs 31:6; 1 Timothy 5:23) • Social drinking is condemned (1 Peter 4:3) • Drinking brings shame (Proverbs 20:1)

Legalizing Gambling Does not Make it Right to Gamble • Gambling – a specific kind of risk taking or chance which involves putting up money or its equivalent in the hope of taking another’s money without providing any goods or services. • Sins included in Gambling: • Covetousness (Romans 13:9; Colossians 3:5; Luke 12:13-15; 1 Timothy 6:9-10; Heb. 13:5) • Stealing by consent (Ephesians 4:28) • Unfaithful stewardship (1 Corinthians 4:2) • Worldliness (1 John 2:15-17; James 4:4) • Addiction or enslavement (2 Peter 2:19)
