  1. Home Care Service or Assisted Living – What is best for your Elderly Relatives? Old age often forces people to seek increased assistance in everyday activities. Those who have elderly parents or other family members in the family have a hard time deciding what is the best type of care for them. This article tries to help you decide between assisted living and senior care in their home. It can be quite agonizing to choose for the family members to choose between assisted living at a nursing home (or old age home)and relying on home care services for seniors. There are pros and cons to both options and they need careful consideration before an arrangement is in place. The very first thing you must consider is why the care is necessary and whether your elderly are in such a degenerative condition that may eventually come to a stage where in-home care is inadequate to deal with their condition. Such situations call for considering the option of assisted living at a senior care facility or a nursing home when the senior in question can have all the medical and emergency care facilities. The option of assisted living is quite a workable option in case you don’t feel comfortable to continue in-home care. There are various levels of care offered in assisted living facilities that vary from the minor facilities to full care. In situations where the family lives away from the senior then assisted living offers an immediate advantage in that there is always a certain level of care and protection that is being offered to the senior even in the absence of family members. If your senior family member needs specialized or constant care and attention then top tier assisted living may be the option for them.

  2. We can’t deny the fact that senior home care services in Kolkata come with their own set of advantages for seniors. They provide them personalized care and logistics support for seniors in Kolkata and also maintaintheir familiarity with the environment. The elderly feel more comfortable with their belongings and space and they also have the liberty to hire nursing staff who can visit them at home when you're not available. However, there are some disadvantages as well. Costs will be incurred for hiring home care and nursing staff while there will be limits to when they are available to come to your home. In case there are no family members who can supervise the home care service provider then it can be difficult to ensure adequate care is taken and to ascertain whether the senior is able to care for themselves when they are left alone. Also, you can’t totally rule out the situation when the caregiver calls in sick, quits or just doesn't show up someday. By and large, you must consider the immediate and expected future needs, and then make a decision based on what options are going to work both now and in the future.
