  1. NPF - FPN RCMP Civilian Employees Vote in Favour of CUPE Certification

  2. The FPSLREB has announced that the outcome of RCMP Civilian Members’ (Intercept Monitor & Telecommunications Operator group) certification vote supported certifying CUPE as their bargaining agent. We congratulate our Civilian Member colleagues on this decision. Of note, CUPE made their application to the FPSLREB in December 2016 and the vote results come approximately 14 months later. The vote was held from January 22 to February 4, 2017.

  3. Anyone interested in following the CUPE certification process can find more information here. (https://choose.cupe.ca/) While we are currently awaiting the FPSLREB’s decision on the timing and process implications of the hearing on the constitutional validity of Bill C-7 (https://npf-fpn.com/federal-public-service-labour-relations-employment-board-grants-qmpma-request-to-review-bill-c-7/), it’s reasonable to anticipate that the timing of your vote on whether to certify NPF as your national representative may be similar. The NPF made application in April 2017 and we are 10 months into the process. While progress hasn’t been as quick as we would like, it is within the realm of other similar processes.
