  1. Mark Wood’s Injury Have Made Things Worse for England England has faced a huge defeat by 151 runs against India at Lord’s in the second Test of the five-match Test series. While they have been missing several key players, to make things worse they could also be missing the all-rounder Mark Wood for next week’s third as he has sustained an injury while fielding at Lord’s. And, there are doubts, whether he will be fit to feature at Headingley Test. Notably, England is already missing their key performers - Stuart Broad, Jofra Archer, and Chris Woakes, while all-rounder Ben Stokes is unavailable as he has taken a break and yet to return as well. Describing the same, England coach, Chris Silverwood informed, “The medics are working on him (Wood), we’ll find out more in the next couple of days. We will make a decision, along with him and our medics, closer to the time. But if he’s not right, he’s not right. I certainly won’t push him into playing if he tells me he’s not right. I will look after him.” But Silverwood lauded Wood’s “superb effort”, despite being many felt he should have been more careful while fielding. England bowlers repeatedly bowled too short at Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah and eventually failed to dismiss them at Lord’s and they added an unbeaten ninth-wicket stand of 89 runs as well. They then starred with the ball as England, set a target of 272, was bowled out for 120 on the final day of the second Test as well.

  2. England’s fast bowlers appeared more interested in seeking revenge from Jafer for the rough treatment number 11 James Anderson received when he batted, rather than dismissing the India tailenders. Silverwood, himself a former England bowler, praised Shami and Bumrah by saying: “I thought they handled the situation really well.” The third Test between India and England will begin on August 25 as well.
