  1. CSK lucky to have Jadeja in his prime - Stephen Fleming Chennai Super Kings head coach Stephen Fleming is happy to have Ravindra Jadeja, in his prime, playing for the 3-time IPL title winner, citing that the in-form all-rounder helps them with a lot of options with his amazing skills in the middle-order. Stephen Fleming has also stated that there were doubts over Jadeja's form prior to the start of IPL 2021, considering he was out of competitive cricket for more than 2 months as he had suffered a finger injury during the Test series against Australia in January. Jadeja also missed the England series at home and also recovered from the injury at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru before he joined the CSK camp in Mumbai for IPL 2021.

  2. However, the coach has said that Jadeja worked really hard at the nets to return to his ususal form ahead of the new season and returned to form "really quickly". However, he has been in formidable form for CSK in IPL 2021. The veteran all-rounder has already hit 109 runs in 6 matches, striking at near to 190 as well. With the ball, Jadeja has claimed 5 wickets and has conceded at little over 6 runs per over as well. Recently, he smashed a 28-ball 62* against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Sunday. He hit 5 sixes in Harshal Patel's final over as the RCB pacer gave away 37 runs in the over. And, Jadeja bowled 3 tidy overs as CSK beat SRH comfortably. "Without doubt, [Jadeja is] close to the peak of his powers. That last game (against RCB) , I don't think you can ask for much more. He's still working very hard," Fleming told the presss after CSK's 7-wicket win over SRH. "Our doubts were around his lack of cricket coming into the tournament, so we had to work really hard to get him up to speed. He did that by hitting a lot of balls and training very hard and he got up to speed really quickly. "We think he's one of the most versatile players in the world, in T20 in particular, but in other formats too. We're lucky to have him right now in his prime and he forms the core of the middle-order and allows a lot of options within the team with his skillset," Fleming further added.
