Audio of Virat Kohli-Ravi Shastri Discussing Strategy for WTC Final Leaked The Indian team has already reached the UK where they are scheduled to play six Test matches starting with the final of the inaugural edition of the ICC World Test Championship final in the middle of June. India will be taking on a resurgent New Zealand in a one-off Test to claim the championship at the Ageas Rosebowl, Southampton on June 18 as well. However, before the Indian team’s departure for the England tour on Wednesday, the captain Virat Kohli, and, the head coach Ravi Shastri had addressed the media virtually but unknowingly their discussion about the strategy for the WTC final went viral as they were not aware that the mic was on. In the leaked audio, Kohli can be heard saying ‘Hum inko round the wicket dalwayenge, Left-handers hai inpe, Lala Siraj sabko start se hi laga denge.” To which Ravi Shastri has also agreed as he says ‘hmmm’.

  2. However, after listening to this audio note, it seems that the young Mohammed Siraj is likely to be featured in the playing XI for the WTC final. On the other hand, Team India is due to win an ICC event after the 2013 edition of the Champions Trophy as well. While they have reached the semi-finals thrice (World Cup 2015, World T20 2016 & World Cup 2019) and have also made two final appearances (ICC World T20 2014 & ICC Champions Trophy 2017), they could not succeed to win the trophy yet as well. “I don’t think there is any frontier for us. Our transition has been smooth. We have all committed to keeping Indian cricket on top and being the best in the world.
