Conclusion Techniques • Quote someone renowned; relate it to your experiences – “Ben Franklin once said . . .” • Make a grand observation • Wordplay – “I spent my childhood saying ‘good night’ to the moon and later running terrifying mazes before bed.” • Return to the title; define or explore the adjective • Use a simile – “To me, reading is like . . .”

Today’s goals may include • Finish crafting a conclusion • Revise the “show” sections in order to “write smaller” with our imagery and details • “Tell” about a few more books, taking it beyond three. • Make paragraphing decisions. Remember that “show” and “tell” about the same book are different paragraphs. • Work on the shape and form of the autobiography. Improve the flow from beginning to middle to conclusion.
