Characters Friar -helps Romeo and Juliet to marry and helps them stay safe and helps keep there love a secret Paris – Loves Juliet and wants to marry her he does not have her love Juliet - loves Romeo and he loves her she is his wife. Capulet – wants Paris to marry Juliet. Hates the Montague's.

  3. Characters cont… Nurse – cares for Juliet and wants what is best for her and herself. Lady Capulet- married to Capulet and is Juliet's mother. Wants what is best for her family. Peter – is the nurses under study. Serving people characters that are there to help around especially with the wedding. Romeo ( not in act IV)- is Juliet’s husband and they are very much in love is a Montague.

  4. Scene 1 Friar Laurence’s cell

  5. Summary of Scene 1 • Paris goes to the Friar and tells the Friar he is going to marry Juliet next Thursday. Then Juliet comes, so Paris leaves because he thinks she is repenting her sins. After Paris leaves, Juliet asks the Friar to help get out of the marriage or she will kill herself. He makes a plan for her to drink a potion, so they will think she is dead. Then Romeo and the Friar, will go to the tomb and wait for her to wake up. Then Romeo and Juliet will escape to Mantua.

  7. Summary of Scene 2 • Juliet returns from Friar Laurence’s cell. She tells her dad that she has asked for forgiveness for disobeying him. She has changed her mind and she will marry Paris, but what her dad doesn’t know is that Juliet has made a plan to get out of the marriage. After hearing this news, Capulet changed the date of the wedding from a week away to the next morning. Then Juliet asks the nurse to go help her get ready for tomorrow in her room. Capulet is so excited that he is going to stay up all night.

  8. Scene 3: Juliet’s Chamber • Juliet tells her mother the nurse can help her prepare. • Juliet worries about taking the fake poison and considers everything that might happen to her if she does or doesn’t. • She takes it and falls into the deep sleep where she looks dead.

  9. Scene 4 & 5 Scene 4 starts off with the Capulet’s getting everything together. Lady Capulet is telling everybody where to go and what to do. The nurse is doing as she is told and giving orders to others. They hear the music which means that Paris is almost to their castle. The nurse is sent to awaken Juliet for this special occasion. Scene 5 starts with the Nurse saying all these things about Paris and her after they are married today. Nurse goes into Juliet’s room and shakes her to awake her. Juliet does not move because of the potion which makes her appear dead. The nurse is crying and talking and then Lady Capulet walks in and finds her daughter dead. She starts to weep when Capulet walks in and also finds his daughter dead. Next the Friar and Paris walk in and find the young lady dead. They all start saying sad things about this dreadful thing and Friar Lawrence says a pray for the family and the dead Juliet. Then Peter and the musicians get into about a song that Peter wants them to play, but they won’t. The End of Act 4.
