  1. A well-rounded, college-ready student takes the three core courses [Bio, Chem, Physics] and at least one AP science course. Make a plan: start at your destination work back to your location! You can take more than one course per year. AP Biology doubles up nicely with AP Chemistry or AP Physics. AP Chemistry and AP Physics are both math intensive.

  2. Medical: life science focus with MCAT prep.

  3. Engineering: focus on the physical sciences.

  4. Honors Biology or Regular Biology? Attitude: Does your student like science? Internal Motivation: Is your student self-driven? Does your child know how s/he learns? Past Performance: How did your student do on the 7th grade ACT-Exploretest? Consider Honors Biology if Explore Science ≥ 20 & Explore Reading ≥ 15. Reading: Does your student extract information while reading? Time: Does your student have the time for all of her/his commitments? (other courses, activities, sports, church, etc.)
