  2. People of Lima About the people: People in Lima, Peru are called Peruvians or Limeños. There is a population of 25 million people in Lima, and there is a lot of different kinds of races. From white and European- Indian mix, to Asian and black. The more wealthy people are the whites and the more poor people are the native Peruvians. Most Peruvians are Roman catholic and celebrate times with religious activities. Limeños mostly speak Spanish and Quecheca, but Spanish is the most spoken. "People - Lima."   3. History of Lima The history: Lima, Peru was founded on January 6, 1535 by a conquistador named Francisco Pizarro. Pizarro wanted the city name “City of Kings” since he conquered the city on a Christian holiday. But the name never stuck. Pizarro was murdered in 1541, now Lima was controlled by the Spaniards. The economy went all down hill, followed by a devastating earthquake in 1746. All mishap happened, with Lima getting invaded during the War of the Pacific. This cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral that’s located in the Plaza Mayor of downtown. The building was constructed in 1535, in memory for St John, Apostle and Evangelist. Each part of the building represents a certain thing. As you can see in the picture, there are three entrances. The main big door is the “door to forgiveness”. And the two doors in the rear are: Santa Apolonia and San Cristobal. As you walk up to the cathedral, you can see the sculptures of the Apostles and the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

  6. Museo de San Francisco The Museo de San Francisco is the most preserved church in Lima. You are allowed to take a guided tour through the history of the building and the construction of it too. The main attraction of this museum is the scary labyrinth that has an underground passage that’s lined with over 250,000 bones of Lima’s citizens’.   7. Parque de la Reserva The Park of the Reserve is located in downtown Lima, Peru. It is open to public all year round. This attraction was first built in 1929. the park was dedicated to the last soldiers who fought in San Juan and Miraflores. This fountain holds record for the largest fountain complex in the world.
