  2. Learning Outcomes: • By the end of the lesson… • You will know how to use ‘j’aime’ when talking about things you like to do. • You will have worked collaboratively to come up with a list of useful phrases.

  3. THE BIGGER PICTURE… • In English, when we are talking about ourselves or our family and friends it is usual for us to mention things such as personal details (name, age, appearance) and also give information such as likes and dislikes. • For us to be able to talk more fluently in French we should be able to vary our language and speak as we would in English.

  5. TASK ONE: You have 3 minutes in your groups to learn the different parts of the verb AIMER… J’aime Tu aimes Il/Elle/On aime Nous aimons Vous aimez Ils/Elles aiment

  20. AIMER + INFINITIVE • Once we know which part of AIMER to use the rest is simple… • In your groups see how many infinitive phrases you can remember from previous units of work: • e.g. JOUER au foot • You have 5 minutes in your groups to write down as many infinitive phrases as possible.

  22. TASK TWO: As we go through all the infinitive phrases you have remembered create a learning map of ideas in your book.

  23. TASK THREE: In your books answer the following questions: Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le weekend? Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le Samedi matin? Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le soir?

  24. TASK FOUR: Now interview one person on your table using the questions below, record the answers in the back of your books: Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le weekend? Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le Samedi matin? Qu’est-ce que tu aimes faire le soir?

  25. HOMEWORK: You must write a report using the third person (il aime / elle aime) about your findings. DUE IN: Thursday
