Michaud Background • Born and raised in East Millinocket, and still resides there. • Religious Affiliation : Roman Catholic • Employed at the Great Northern Paper Company for 29 years as a mill worker and supervisor. • Gained first political interest when he campaigned to clean the Penobscot River as a member of the Maine House of Representatives. • Elected to Maine House of Representatives in 1980, and served seven terms. • Unanimously elected the President of the Maine Senate in 2000. • Democratic Member of the House of Reps since 2003.
