Analogies between aspects of speech and aspects of music: • We can divide the various aspects into three main groups: • Those aspects where there is obviously some match between music and speech. These include melody, rhythm and vocal timbre. • Those aspects found in music but not obviously found in speech. These include harmony, scales, home notes, home chords and repetition. • Those aspects found in speech but not obviously found in music. These include phonemes, vocabulary, syntax and semantics. Except when satisfying various consistency requirements, such as: the accent of the words that should match the rhythm of the melody.

  3. Complexities for the translator: The translator must have in mind various aspects of the original song: • Rhythm • Natural beat • Harmony

  4. according to the lyrics the translator must overcome other complexities such as: • rhyme (if there is any) • proverbs • idioms • slang • quotations • And above all: the meaning behind or within the song

  5. Possible solutions: • Alter the rhythm • Include or exclude instruments • Write lyrics with different meaning but maintain parts of the ST • Introduce expressions that are typical, metaphoric or vulgar for the target audience but carry the same rhythm and fluency as the ST

It also refers to one of the many meanings of 'O' which is a beach near where Damien lived that is apparently where 'O' makes perfect sense to him, this beach is included in the Blowers Daughter video and references of 'breeze' 'colder water' link to this.
