  3. Update from NDMA

  4. District Update • Coordination for coverage of gaps in emergency assistance, and implementation of ER activities deems critical in all districts; recent cases of duplications in Sanghar (distributions), Badin and Umerkot (ER projects). Shelter agencies reminded to inform the Shelter Cluster and district authorities before starting activities. • Corruption cases and duplications – Only one case of duplication was confirmed in TMK, though a number of households had reused emergency shelter kit provided by one organization to supplement e.g. T-Shelters or roofing kits provided by another.

  5. District Update • An urgent need for shelter trainings was highlighted in Badin. • In MPK – A number of government model villages are being constructed. SC will identify the locations of these. • In ShaheedBenazirabad - TehlukaQazi Ahmed identified isolated by the local organizations in last district cluster meetings. The district SC asked for the assessment of isolated Tehluka from the local organizations.

  8. 1.Definition Multi-sector Initial Rapid Assessment (MIRA) is the first step of the Assessment and Monitoring Framework is designed to identify strategic humanitarian priorities after the onset of natural disasters or complex emergencies.

  9. 2. Objectives Identify the scale, extent and nature of the disaster Planning of search and rescue activities; also camp management Determination of priority areas and assist in the planning and deployment of resources Identify gaps in response and rescue.

  10. 3. Significance Being developed in collaboration between the government through NDMA and the humanitarian community will provide with a common methodology and assessment tools for coherent needs-data collection in any emergency. Will be integrated in the National Disaster Response Plan

Technical Trainings IOM ORS Program IOM and Heritage foundation have joined hands to provide technical trainings to our Implementing Partners The IPs once trained will then pass on their knowledge to the beneficiaries The trainings include techniques to build back safer using vernacular methodologies. Specific trainings to be conducted on Location and Foundation Plinth & Walls Ring Beam & Roof
