  1. Body mass index • BMI(Body mass index) 又稱 Kaup index 或 Quetelet index中文名稱 身體質量指數BMI是一種可以簡便評估身體營養狀態的指標優點:1. 與體脂肪比有很好的正相關2. 與身高相關性低 (與骨架大小關係小的意思)3. 死亡率相關性好 (J型曲線 <--註)4. 慢性病罹患率相關性好5. 成年人 未懷孕婦女 青少年 兒童均適用註: J型曲線縱軸為死亡率 橫軸為BMI的座標圖中,曲線形狀呈現類似英文字母"J"的形狀,曲線下凹的位置(死亡率最低的部分)BMI介於18.5~24左右,隨著BMI從18.5越來越低 或BMI從24越來越高,死亡率都跟著飆升。
