  • Alignment of curriculum


  • This was begun with the 4 core subjects

  • Work is continuing with electives

  • This is an on-going process, documents may/will change

  • From this process 30 key terms were identified for each subject at each grade level

  • Provide feedback at all levels: class, school, district

TWO-Academic Background Knowledge

  • Vocabulary is a beginning step followed by simple concepts (basic objectives & learning goals), and then complex (application, extension of topic)

  • The purpose is to enhance student academic background knowledge through direct instruction in specific academic terms

  • A recommended that 30 terms are identified for each grade level, for each subject area

  • Common approach to instruction, Six-Step Process district wide
