Syllabus. This course investigates areas in linguistics relevant to teachers of English as a foreign language. Students examine key linguistic concepts and definitions in phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, lexicology, pragmatics and discourse analysis and their applications to teaching and learning English.
