Meet Chris Van Allsburg • Born June 18, 1949,in Grand Rapids, Michigan • His love of drawing developed into a love of telling stories through pictures • He always tries to create something strange or puzzling in each picture • Two of his awards are Caldecott Medals for Jumanji and The Polar Express
