2. MISSION STATEMENT It is our mission at the Gallia County Department of Job and Family Services Work Opportunity Center to help improve the quality of life of the Gallia County residents. We promote self sufficiency by providing services that will empower the citizens of our county. It is our objective to maximize available community resources to support and encourage families and individuals to achieve their goals.
3. CHILD SUPPORT In 2007:
there were a total of 2,416 cases
a total of $3,439,624 in child support collections
4. Following is a recap of Cash brought into Gallia County as a result on the paperwork completed by GCDJFS.
5. Cash Assistance(Based on 2007 calculations) 7.5% of all residents were enrolled
On average this total was represented as:
-34.1% adults
-65.9% children
Annual average Cash Payment per individual was $757
6. Food Assistance(Based on 2007 calculations) 24.3% of all residents were enrolled
On average this total was represented as:
60% adults
40% children
Average annual Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Payment (SNAP) totaled $790

8. Child Care and Adult Protective Services (Based on 2007 calculations) 409 children used publicly funded child care services for a total of $762,142

9. Gallia County One Stop Center The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program provides federal funds for job training and employment services. The goal is to increase employment, job retention, earnings, and occupational skills.
In 2007 Gallia County served:
70 adults
61 youths
Additional funding would have allowed for more to have been served.

Gallia County Department of Job and Family Services is seeking local employers to participate in the 2009 Paid Employment Program for youth.
12. Provide eligible Gallia County youth with assistance in the development of necessary skills to be successful in school, work and their community.
13. Requirements: Attend an Employer Orientation to learn program goals and requirements
Provide meaningful workplace experiences for Gallia County youth
Teamwork: Work closely with WIA Youth case managers to ensure that both youth and employers benefit from the experience
Assist in the development of work activities that teach youth how to become a vital part of the ever changing workforce
