  1. 7.7-Writing Exponential Models Steps to writing an exponential function given 2 or more data points on the figure. PICK 2 points! • 1. Write the model y=abᵡ • 2. Rewrite equation: Substitute x & y of 1st point. • 3. Rewrite equation: Substitute x & y of 2nd point. • 4. Solve for “a” in first rewritten equation. • 5. Substitute “a” value into the second rewritten equation and SOLVE for “b” • 6. Substitute “b” value into step 4 and SOLVE for “a”. • 7. Rewrite original model using only the new a & b.

  2. Example: • Write the exponential model given 2 points on it are (1,12) and (3,108)

  3. Example: TA • Write the exponential model given 2 points on it are (1,6) and (3,24)

  4. Example: • Write the exponential model given 2 points on it are (2,8) and (3,32)

  5. Example: TA • Write the exponential model given 2 points on it are (3,27)and (5,243)
