  3. The Vision The vision describes what the organization wants to do or where it wants to go. The vision gives an image of the overall direction of the agency. The vision explains why an organization exists.

  4. Indiana Department of Correction Vision As the model of public safety, the Indiana Department of Correction returns productive citizens to our communities and supports a culture of inspiration, collaboration, and achievement.

  5. Mission Statement The mission statement identifies the core purpose of the organization and motivates stakeholders. The mission statement clearly identifies what the correctional agency does, why it does it, how it does it, and for whom it does it. The mission statement is a unifying force for a correctional organization, clarifying its purpose for personnel and stakeholders.

  6. Indiana Department of Correction Mission Statement The Indiana Department of Correction advances public safety and successful re-entry through dynamic supervision, programming, and partnerships.
