  1. La Academia de los NinosDotados y Talentosos en QVMS Persuasive Presentation You will create a promotional, professional-like presentation that advertizes and promotes the Academy ALL IN SPANISH 3-6 min long

  2. Requisitos • Por lo menos 50 NUEVAS palabrasvocabularias de laslistas “Mi Vida Loca” y “MisActividades” • (you may use as many other vocab words from those lists that you would like, but 50 need to be new to 8th grade)

  3. Requisitos • Conversation • Entre dos o tresestudiantessobresusclases y experiencias en La Academia • (this should be informal, and not the main focus/the entire time of your presentation. It should be inserted to show the real-life connection and experiences of students in the Academy as support of your promotion)

  4. Requisitos • Discuss • classes • Extracurricular activities • (Not in a LIST form! Even in a conversation!! More part of an introduction to what there is offered, more natural flow to it) • THESE MUST INCLUDE DETAILS OF REQUIREMENTS AND ACTIVITIES AND EXPECTATIONS—great place to insert vocab

  5. It is persuasive presentation! • You must invite and draw people to the Academy • You must tell them WHY it is the best school for them/their child • Your audience is prospective students/parents/people outside FBISD who want to know what makes the Academy great/special • ~~This may be like an advertisement, a professional promotion, or a commercial

  6. You will give this presentation in class • Must be memorized • Must have props that support your point of view and presentation • …but wait!! There’s more!!!...

  7. Technology • NEXT week, you will complete a final portion of this assignment • A TECHNOLOGY PIECE!!! • You will be in the computer lab next week • For your presentation (major grade) you must include a technology/mulit-media portion • (Power Point, Photostory, moviemaker, Prezi, Video, etc) • (remember, you must cite any sources that need to be cited)

  8. Grading • Your written portion is due this Friday, the 9th. • It is a daily grade • Because you have two weeks of class time to accomplish this, if you are off-task you will get points taken off your grade as part of your participation. • Your presentation including technology is due at the end of class on Friday the 16th. You may not take it home that weekend. • You will present for a MAJOR GRADE on the Monday and Tuesday before November break. • LATE WORK WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED

  9. Today, the expectation is that you get in your groups and brainstorm format, ideas, scenarios and begin writing • Persuasive Presentation • Tell WHY IT IS THE BEST SCHOOL • ~Por lo menos 50 NUEVAS palabrasvocabularias de laslistas “Mi Vida Loca” y “MisActividades” • ~Convo • Entre dos o tresestudiantessobresusclases y experiencias en La Academia ~Discuss classes, extracurriculars, details about requirements and opportunities in them ~Add a technology piece that will show during presentation

Project summary  • Persuasively promotes the Academy • 3-6 minutes, all in Spanish • includes the technology portion (next week) • Includes a short conversation • 50 NEW vocab words, NO LISTING • Memorized, with props • Script due THIS Friday, November 9 (Daily grade) • In labs until THURSDAY, November 15 • MAJOR GRADE presentation Friday (16th) and Monday (19th)
