  3. What does the church / Christianity / the Bible say about sex?

  4. Matthew 5:27-28 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

  5. SEX IS A GIFT FROM GOD Genesis 2:24-25 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh. The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

  6. 1 Corinthians 6:13-16 The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. … Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never!

  7. Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.”

  8. Genesis 2:25 THE MAN AND HIS WIFE WERE BOTH NAKED, AND THEY FELT NO SHAME. One flesh … nakedness … sex … was all part of creation before sin entered into the world

  9. Proverbs 5:18-19 May your fountain be blessed, and may you rejoice in the wife of your youth. A loving doe, a graceful deer— may her breasts satisfy you always, may you ever be captivated by her love.

  10. Song of Solomon 2:3, 6 Like an apple tree among the trees of the forest is my lover among the young men. I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. … His left arm is under my head, and his right arm embraces me.

  11. Song of Solomon 7:1-8 How beautiful your sandaled feet, O prince’s daughter! Your graceful legs are like jewels, the work of a craftsman’s hands. Your navel is a rounded goblet that never lacks blended wine.

  12. Your waist is a mound of wheat encircled by lilies. Your breasts are like two fawns, twins of a gazelle. Your neck is like an ivory tower. Your eyes are the pools of Heshbon by the gate of Bath Rabbim.

  14. How beautiful you are and how pleasing, O love, with your delights! Your stature is like that of the palm, and your breasts like clusters of fruit. I said, “I will climb the palm tree; I will take hold of its fruit.”

  15. THERE’S NO DOUBT THAT THERE’S SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT THIS SEX ACT: 1 Corinthians 6:18 … All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body.

  16. 1 Corinthians 7:3-5 The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife, and likewise the wife to her husband. The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. In the same way, the husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife.

  17. Do not deprive each other except by mutual consent and for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer. Then come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.

  18. Matthew 19:8-12 Jesus replied, “Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning. I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, and marries another woman commits adultery.”

  19. The disciples said to him, “If this is the situation between a husband and wife, it is better not to marry.” Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word, but only those to whom it has been given. For some are eunuchs because they were born that way;

  20. others were made that way by men; and others have renounced marriage (litt: other eunuchs made themselves eunuchs) because of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

  21. THE WHOLE POINT OF HIGHLIGHTING THESE PASSAGES IS TO SHOW THAT SEX IS A GIFT FROM GOD … TO BE ENJOYED BY HUSBAND AND WIFE IN THE RELATIONSHIP WE CALL MARRIAGE

  22. Exodus 20:14 (7th commandment) You shall not commit adultery. Leviticus 18 a whole chapter on restrictions on sexual relations

  23. Matthew 5:27-28 “You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.

  24. You can’t stop the birds from flying over your head, but you can stop them from making a nest in your hair

  25. Matthew 5:29-30 If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell.

  26. And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

  27. TEMPTATION DECISION ACTION

  28. TO PLUCK OUT YOUR EYE / CUT OFF YOUR HAND IS TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE AT THE POINT OF DECISION

  29. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

  30. 2 Corinthians 10:5 We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

  31. Hebrews 13:4 Marriage should be honored by all, and the marriage bed kept pure.
