  2. What is LASIK surgery? • LASIK is eye surgery that permanently changes the shape of the cornea. It is done to improve vision and reduce a person's need for glasses or contact lenses. • The LASIK reshapes your cornea so that light focuses on the retina correctly. • By correcting the corneal width through the Laser excimer technique, LASIK creates a cornea capable of focussing light rays accurately on the retina.
