  4. Course Description The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop fundamental knowledge in Geometry as well as successfully accomplish the End of the Course Test (EOC).

  5. Content Areas Our curriculum will be base on the following topics: Lines and Angles. Points, Lines, Planes and Angles Reasoning and Proof Parallel and Perpendicular lines.

  6. Content Areas Our curriculum will be base on the following topics: Triangles Congruent Triangles Relationships in triangles. Proportion and Similarity Right Triangles and Trigonometry

  7. Content Areas Our curriculum will be base on the following topics: Quadrilaterals and Circles Quadrilaterals Transformation Circles

  8. Content Areas Our curriculum will be base on the following topics: Area and Volume Area of polygon and Circles Surface Area Volume

  9. Evaluation All work is graded as follow: • Daily assignments • Weekly Quizzes • Tests and Projects • Journal entries • Class participation • Independent and group class work

  10. Evaluation Your Grade is been divided into three categories: 20%Homework 30%Quizzes 50%Tests and projects

  11. Grading Scale A 100-90 = 4 B 89-80 = 3 C 79-70 = 2 6 6 D 69-60 = 1 F 59-0 = 0

  12. Homework • Homework is a very important part of the learning process. To be successful in Geometry Honors, assignments must be completed by the given due dates. • To receive full credit you need to show all your work. • 3-Homework Passes are going to be giving to you per quarter. You will receive a 75% for your late homework. Late work shown not be more that 2-weeks old.

  13. Textbooks You will be issued one Textbooks for Geometry Honors. The books must be kept in good condition. You should take the book home and have it in a safe place to be handy for study and do homework.

Procedures to be successful in my class • Respect everyone in the school. • Follow directions the first time they are given. • Always come to class on time and prepared. • Record and do your homework. • Make up any work as soon as possible when you are absent. • Participate in instructional activities on a daily basis. • Maintain composition book. • ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST.

  17. Attendance Policy Attendance and direct instruction are fundamental for achieving maximum personal learning leading to HS credit and a quality GPA. A pattern of non-attendance will lead to unacceptable grades, course failure, and could potentially jeopardize completion of graduation requirements.

  18. Attendance Policy Parent Link places automatic phone calls/e-mails daily anytime an absence or tardy is recorded for a student.

Student Goals • Identify mathematical vocabulary and definitions. • Demonstrate the use of fundamental basic math skills. • Demonstrate the use of fundamental algebra skills. • Demonstrate the use of fundamental geometry skills. • Master each objective to achieve a successful score in the EOC.

  20. Cell Phones Base on the Code of Conducts, students may possess cell phones and other personal electronic devices, with the exception of a laptop computer while on school grounds during regular school hours, HOWEVER, they MUSTbe turn off at all times unless utilized for an approved activity. In my Algebra 2 classes all cell phones and other telecommunication devices MUST remain off and away at all times.

Late Work Policy • All work is due on the due date. • Late work will NOT be accepted. • The missed work due to absences is the number of days absent plus one day to complete missed work. • As defined in the policy, it is the student’s responsibility to complete any missed work within the defined timeframe.

  23. Late Work Policy Late Homework Passes • 3 homework passes every quarter. • 75% for late homework using H-Pass • Turned in within 2-weeks from due date.
