Ford and Nixon Election • 1972 • Nixon’s 2nd term for the presidency. • National • There were five burglars arrested in the Democratic party headquarters in the Watergate apartment and office complex in Washington. • Nixon swore and degraded many people. • Foreign influences: Nixon wanted to extend and Ford wanted to stay away from it. • Nixon said Ford was spending to much on military and wasted it, and Ford said we need a strong military force. • Nixon wanted less government and Ford wanted more. • The Supreme Court justice died and Nixon had to appoint one and Ford said Nixon was “nuts” and shouldn’t of picked him.
