  5. Format of Template • Mirrors the design of both the School and District improvement templates • Includes the required elements that are unique to the ISD/RESA

  6. Federal Requirements • Achievement goals for special populations (Title I, Parts A, C, or D) • At lease one goal in each of the four content areas (ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies) • Objectives and Strategies to accomplish the stated goals • Include Stakeholder involvement

  7. Federal requirements… • Contain monitoring assessments that provide formative information to guide additional support • Strategies to provide support for High Priority Schools

  8. State Requirements • Stakeholder involvement in development, monitoring and evaluation of plan • Strategies to assist districts in improving student academic learning • Plan for professional development that is aligned with stated achievement goals • Strategies to help districts integrate applied academics, and career and employability skills into curricular areas

  14. Goal Statements • Linked to identified Student Academic Learning Needs • States broadly the area of focus and that all students will become successful learners • Based on a careful analysis of data • Defines the priority area for an improvement plan

  15. Objective Statement • Linked to the goal • Identifies the knowledge, skills, outcomes and results that are measurable, observable and quantifiable • States: Who, will be able to do what, by when, as measured by what?

  16. Strategy Statements • Linked to the objective • Specific, planned, research-based programs and/or instructional activities • Focus on maximizing each student’s growth and individual success • Done to/or with students to develop a specific result
