  1. The Most Promising Technology in the IT world – Internet of Things Like 0Tweet In today’s generation technology has made its existence in the human life. The internet of Things is one such technology which is highly in demand and is evolving at an incredibly rapid pace. For most of the IT industry, 2018 will be a fascinating year as it is growing rapidly. The Internet of Things (IoT) is one technology that garnered a good chunk of attention in comparison to all the other technologies in 2017. By 2020, nearly 20 billion devices will get connected to the Internet of Things, and regarding revenue, IoT product and service suppliers will amount to a business of USD 300 billion, as per Gartner’s prediction. Various IoT platforms are considered as Application Enablement Platforms (AEPs). To improve business models, increase productivity and design more efficient products, multiple industries like agriculture, automobile, healthcare, energy, manufacturing, transportation, and logistics are relying on the data gathered by IoT platforms. As per the researched study by MachNation, the internet of things platforms had generated around USD 2 billion in revenue in 2016, and by 2025 it is expected to grow to USD 83.4 billion. In this piece of article, we will be discussing the leading trends of the Internet of Things that defined the future of IoT in 2018. Expansion of Smart devices Technology has become an integral part of every human existence across the globe. The internet of Things is one such technology which connects devices and exchanges the data. This year 2018 is going to be quite impressive as there will be even more interconnected gadgets. It does not only point out to devices like laptops or smartphones but other smart devices such as mart locks, doors, and other electronic devices that can be in use on a daily basis. The growth of various other ingenious devices will allow expanding the process that utilizes IoT, which in turn will perform them more accessible and more accurate. Also, the availability of the internet of things will be more, and not sticking to industry uses but also for personal uses on a daily basis. Resulting in the concept of smart cities, where IoT will dictate a lot of processes. This may sound or feel like to be in heaven, but the fact is that few countries have already started realizing and developing the concept of smart cities. As a result, very soon we will see something revolutionary in the future. According to the estimation given by CSCO, by 2020 number of connected devices will exceed 50 billion with the growth in the Internet of Things. The Internet of Things Security We all are aware of the frequent cyber-attacks and are also alert that it can even get worst. More and more devices get connected to the internet of things as adoption increases. This results in more information at risk, the rise of volume data and expanding the network. The increased impetus of IoT security must accompany increased use of IoT. Thus IoT will have to be more secure than before, as vital data is floating about in the cloud, which will risk the safety of homes and health of patients. Hence, these are few trends that will dominate the IoT ecosystem in 2018 and the companies related to this technology will see significant advancements. It is evident that in the coming years, new technologies will emerge making the Internet of things more in-built and user-friendly. However, with the development of this technology, industrialists will have to work hard in securing their connected devices, as the risk to data will also increas
