    2. Sometimes we talk about application of the triangle (multiple level of supports) in reference to staff. There will be some of us who will require additional supports to help us implement schoolwide models.Sometimes we talk about application of the triangle (multiple level of supports) in reference to staff. There will be some of us who will require additional supports to help us implement schoolwide models.

    3. Participation in MiBLSi required… Commitment from at least 80% of building staff for participation over next three years. Commitment from building administration Commitment from district administration

    4. We may need to confirm/develop our current commitment status Main Ideas: Confirm commitment from administration Review school-improvement goals (reading/Behavior in top three goals) Share current status of reading/behavior student performance with staff, ask if satisfied with this Ask staff if things are likely to improve if we continue in same way

    5. What we are talking about with schoolwide behavior support will take much effort and time. Are stall willing to invest this over three years? What we are talking about with schoolwide behavior support will take much effort and time. Are stall willing to invest this over three years?

    6. Complete the Plan for Building Commitment

    7. Insanity! The process of doing the same thing over and over......and expecting different results. Albert Einstein

    8. Piecemealness

    9. There are many “Roadblocks” to implementation Numerous demands Competing initiatives Lack of time Shrinking resources Staff turnover On-going changes in district

    10. There are also “Bridges” over these obstacles We can “work smarter” by… Prioritize activities based on School Improvement Plan Eliminate activities not geared toward goals Combine committees and tasks that have same goal Communicate will all key stakeholders Use effective (evidence-based) practices

    11. Sample Committee/Group Review Matrix This is the Audit for efficient integration of team with other teams/initiatives addressing behavior support (As referred to in the EBS Team Implementation Checklist)This is the Audit for efficient integration of team with other teams/initiatives addressing behavior support (As referred to in the EBS Team Implementation Checklist)

    12. Sample Committee/Group Review Matrix

    13. Complete the matrix on page 1 of the “Committee/Group Review” Worksheet

    14. Review Committee/Group Decision Rules Look at your committee matrix… Committees without a clear purpose, clear outcome, or direct relationship to the school improvement plan should be eliminated or modified. Committees that share a common purpose or common outcome should be combined. Committees that have an unclear purpose or outcome should be strengthened by clarifying these items. What would an organizational chart that shows the relationship between each of our recommended committees/work groups look like?

    15. Review the Committee/Group Review matrix you just created. Decide which committees need to be… Eliminated Combined Supported Is your school improvement team your MiBLSi team? Remember, the committee is in place because some influential people decided it was important. Consider this when making your recommendations for change.
