Pharmaceutical Sector in Poland • National Pharmaceutical Industry plays an important role in the Polish health & care system provides patients with affordable medicines available to treat most illnesses. It also has a great importance for the economy of providing 55% of the medicines sold in Poland. • Polish pharmaceutical industry is one of the largest generic medicines producer in Europe. It provides public access to medicines of good qualitywith benefit price(more than 50% of the packages in the market comes from domestic plants).

Theseinvestments have allowed companies such as for: • Process to complete implementation of Quality Management Systems, • implementationof Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), the adjustment of medicines documents with European Union requirements, • employment restructuring, development cooperation programs in science, • increase in the number of patents, the development of biotechnology, • the adaptation of production to high standards of environmental protection. Domestic pharmaceutical companies spend on research and development, 13% of the profits, where the average for the processing industry in Poland is 3.5%.

  7. Pharmaceutical Sector in Poland The export of medicines toEU countries are 75.6%. Among the countries to which exported the Polish medicine complex, the majority were: Germany (15.5% of Polish exports) and the United Kingdom, France and Russia (about 9% of Polish foreign sales).

  10. Pharmaceutical Sector in Poland Trade Union membership in the pharmaceutical industry is in the range of 30-35%. In the factories functioning Works Collective LabourAgreements. Where are the European Works Council representatives of Polish pharmaceutical companies are authorized. Works Council functioning of each plant. Multi-establishment collective agreement is not signed, has not given its consent Employers Association of Pharmaceutical Industries.
